Weekend Update

1. Dana had a great birthday.  Best present?  The buyers signed off on the inspection and our house is officially SOLD! We close on the 15th.

2. Now we feel like we can actually celebrate.

3. I know I’ve said this before but I’m really doing it this time…. I’m moving the blog.  Details to come.  I’ve already moved the archives.  I’m serious this time.  I mean it.  I know you don’t believe me but I really mean it this time.

4.  Seriously.  I mean it.

5. Dana got suckered ….by me….into  lovingly volunteered to try to make me my own blog theme.  Wasn’t that nice of him?

6. Found a place to rent.  I think we can comfortably stay there for 18-ish months until Anna Grace finishes preschool, the market crashes a bit more here in Florida and I get over my fear and loathing of all things related to buying and selling houses.  I think I have a real estate complex at this point and I start to break out in hives every  time I think about buying another house.  Can. Not. Do. It.

7. Hey Washington buddies…. we’re comin’ to town. I think we’ll be there the week of the 7th.

8. I’ll be back in Washington in February for Madrona.  Squee.

9.  Want to knit AG a sweater out of Dream in Color Smooshy. Color?  Giant Peach.  Pattern?  Can’t decide. Thought I’d write my own. Can’t think.  Brain. Not. Working. Any ideas?

10.  Dana turned 46 yesterday.  It really isn’t fair that he gets younger looking every year and I get more haggard looking every month.  Really.  It isn’t fair.

Winners:
Sue was the first person to answer correctly.  Mandi was our randomly chosen winner.   They win Sea Coast  Handpainted Superwash Sock.

Contest for today……

More OnLine Supersocke up for grabs.  Leave your answer in the comments.  One prize chosen from all the correct responses.    Your answer is determining who has the hair of an inch on the other.   If flat footed, back to back, who is taller…. Dana or Kris?

  1. Hmmm – tough. The obvious answer is Dana, but I’m thinking he’s probably wearing high heel shoes in the photo, standing on his tippy-toes, while you are scrunching down to throw us off.

    SO I’ll go with Kris.

  2. Hmmm – I was sure I was going to win one of the seacoast sock yarns since my boyfriend is from Maine (the colorway I would have chosen). Is it a bad omen that I didn’t win? Or maybe a good one – like the boyfriend sweater curse. Hmmm.

Well, on to this contest (which have been so much fun)

I’ll go with Dana, although since that is so obvious, why would you have asked? Oh well, Dana.

  3. I guess Kris, though that last photo makes me second guess my gut feeling. Makes me wish I had paid better attention when you were in Friday Harbor!

  4. I say KRIS! Congratulations on the offical closing date! I hear ya’ ’bout the buying/selling. It’s never just buy one house and this is the final house! …of course, I find buying easier than SELLING!

  5. Having met you (and you’re pretty tall), I guess you. So glad to hear that you’ve sold the house. What a relief that must be. But sorry it kind of severs your ties to Washington.
