Anna Grace’s Guide to Parenting

AG is all thrilled that her toys have arrived, she has located her baby stroller and she is quite happy that her doll babies are safe and sound.  One of them, this cheap little doll from Wally World (Wal Mart) has become her new favorite.  It cries and coos when you press it’s belly and she says it is her baby.  She’s being quite the little mommy.

I’ve been talking this up.  I’m helping her change her baby’s diaper (we have a bunch of old diapers that she grew out of and I let her use them with her dolls), feed the baby and I tell her what a good mommy she is.  AG is just eating this up.

Yesterday we were talking as I unpacked boxes.  She had her baby and the baby was crying.  She handed me the baby and I pretended to cuddle the baby and give the baby a kiss.  I told the baby that he had a good mommy, referring to Anna Grace.

Anna Grace pipes up and says "Yes, he has a good mommy.  His mommy doesn’t say ‘no’".  And then she turns and glares at me.

I got the message.  Not planning on doing anything different but I got the message!
