Farmhouse Socks: Umpteenth Incarnation

I’m starting to think this yarn is cursed.  This is the umpteenth re-do/attempt at knitting socks with this same skein of yarn.  I think these have killed my knitting mojo.  I knit on them sometimes but that’s it because… well…. they’ve got bad ju ju.

In an attempt to get my mojo back, I’m going to start knitting Cloud Chaser.  I think (THINK) this is something I could wear even while pregnant.  We’ll see.  I’ll definitely be knitting it in cotton and not alpaca.  Love alpaca but it doesn’t get a lot of wear time during a Florida summer.

Tower Garden: Week 1 of growth

The tower garden is doing great.  Love the thing. Love listening to the water cycle, sounds like a waterfall.  Have now officially stashed enough money aside to buy another tower.  I see an obsession starting.

Two Weeks of Growth

I have decided that lettuce really doesn’t work.  They said that lettuce would grow even if it got warm but that doesn’t seem to be true.  It didn’t grow much at all until this week when it got real cold.  Then it took off.  It has now warmed up so… I think that growth will be slowing down again.  Gradually I’m figuring things out.  Thing #1: I don’t think we should grow lettuce just yet.

The kids are doing great and the pregnancy is coming along without any difficulty.  All is well.

Well… I’m off to find a cotton yarn that has drape.  Wish me luck!!
