Tying Up Loose Ends

A lot of little fiber related things have been finished up or repaired over the past few days.  (sorry for the flash…this house is dark on a good day but at night…hoo boy!)

1.  Absinthe Socks

I finished this project a few months ago, went to wear them for the first time and discovered….

A Dropped Stitch

Redneck engineering ensued and the sock is…..

2. Dishtowel

I have a little dishtowel project that I have been tinkering with forever.  It is just something I knit on occasionally.  Uber simple, no big deal.

Not That Exciting Dish Towel

Well…that’s all done too.

3.  The Tank Top (that I can’t remember the name of…)

I finished the front of the tank top.  Like this pattern…love that I’m not going to get trapped on Sleeve Island.

Wish I had been thinking more clearly and done short rows at the shoulders.  I’ll pay for that later.  :-S

4. Sun Ray Shawl

I was sitting in church not too long ago, wearing my Sun Ray Shawl, when I saw a stitch creeping ever so slowly up my shoulder (what is with me and the dropped stitches??????).   This could mean only one thing…..

More Redneck Engineering Required

A little use of the crochet hook and the tapestry needle and voila!!!…..

5.  Forest Canopy Shawl (NOT…Forest Path Shawl as I accidently referred to it earlier….)

The shawl came off the blocking board.  It is definitely a shoulder shawl.  Ends were woven in and the little thing took a trip out already…I wore it to church on Sunday.

Yarn: My own handspun (spun from Yarn Love Marianne Roving: Awakening Earth)

Needles: Size 5

Love it, love it, love it!!!

That is the last of the loose ends that I tied up.  Although… I do have another finished project to show you but I gotta get pictures taken.

Have a great day.

  1. Glad you didn’t panic over those dropped stitches! I’m amazed that it’s cool enough to even wear a shawl in Orlando. Can you believe last week it was actually hotter here?? With no air conditioning!

  2. Nice redneck engineering! The Forest Canopy shawl is gorgeous!

You know you could tear the shoulder bind off out and just drop back a couple of rows and short row those shoulders. The time you spend doing it will be more than made up when it comes to seaming.
