Forest Path Stole
Although I threatened to light it on fire, I did manage to resist.  I undid, frogged, etc a large portion of it (the messed up portion) and began to knit again.  I finished one fern diamond.  Thanks to Debi I was able to get on the right track and I think Dorothy may have given me a tip to maintain my sanity while working on the upcoming nupps.

Here’s a progress shot….

The varigation on this yarn will either make the end product interesting in a good way or interesting in a very bad way.  The jury is still out.

There’s a little black spot on the sun today….

it’s the same ol’ thing as yesterday….  (it’s my soul up there)
Everybody SING!

I’m not real big on watching the Grammy’s.  Too many wackadoodles.  I sometimes watch the Oscars but I gave up on the Grammy’s many moons ago.  But not this year.  I have been anxiously awaiting the reunion of The Police.   I am looking forward to each and every 80’s flashback that will accompany their performance.  Wahoo!

Shopology

We’re having trouble with getting Google to pick up and register Sonny & Shear.   We had put a placeholder page up while the site was being developed. The webcrawler came by a few times and saw nothing there so now it won’t come back again to see that the site is up.  So if you search on the shop name you’ll get some listings where other folks talk about it (and we love and adore each and every one of you!!!) but the actual business won’t come up.  Dana has been working on this problem all weekend by developing site maps, etc to no avail.  Tomorrow he is actually calling Google’s office.

We did tweak the splash page just a bit.  Click  and take a look.  I think it looks a bit more crisp and I like that it gives you some idea that we’re a yarn shop.  (Guess we had kinda left that part out!) That will help since we have an ad up on the Knitter’s Review forum this week and we’ll also have an ad in the next Knitty issue.

Well, I’m either going to work on my sock OR I’m going to attempt another diamond on the FPS.  Since there are nupps on that diamond the sock may be winning.

Toodles, y’all!!

  1. Yay for you! Keep plugging on and even the nupps will get a little better. I actually haven’t worked on my stole in a week because other things have captured my attention. Just got done browsing your site and it looks great – very clean and crisp and easy to navigate. I found some great kids’ sweater patterns and think an order will be forthcoming. Small, but hope every little bit helps!

  2. Nupps. That SHOULD be a bad word. When I did mine on my sister’s scarf, I caved in and did them with fewer stitches. The pattern called for 5-stitch nupps, I did them with 3. The best suggestion I got in my comments was to push the nupp stitches down to the thinner cable part of the cable needle when it came time to purl them together.
I love your S&S shop. I can’t shop till the 15th, so I’m trying to hold out.
