Socks and Such

Hope y’all had a great Christmas.  We spent Christmas Eve with Dana’s folks and then came home and prepared for the guy in the red suit.

Anna Grace’s Letter to Santa

I am proud to say that I actually had some cookies (although, in the interest of full disclosure, I wouldn’t have had any if the neighbor hadn’t brought some over!) so Santa was spared another year of us leaving him some Vienna sausages.  (I know… Classy!)

We spent Christmas morning together, just the three of us and then spent the rest of the day at Hammy and Hampy’s house.  Nice, relaxing day with friends that are just like family.

Earlier I told you that I knit a pair of socks as a Christmas gift.  Well, the socks were for my dad’s fiance and I made another pair of Nutkins.

I was taking these pictures late in the evening and having a hard time getting a photo.  Photo one shows an accurate representation of the color but… you lose all the detail in the sock.  Photo 2 shows the detail of the Nutkin pattern.

The yarn is Zen Yarn Garden Sea Sock in the color Anna Grace.  I made these with size 2.5 dpns since I think the ones I’m making with size 2.0 are still a bit snug.  Other changes… I did a stockinette rolled top cuff instead of the folded cuff.

Still love the Nutkin pattern.  I have to finish the pair that I am making for myself and then, no more Nutkins.  I have to face this addiction head on and walk away!!!!

Currently on the needles:  a basic pair of stockinette socks for Dana.   They are one of his Christmas presents but by late on the 24th I hadn’t gotten much past the toes.  Why?  Well…. my husband has freakishly wide feet so when knitting toe up…. there was a whole lot of increasin’ goin’ on!!!  I ended up just wrapping the socks up, needles and all, and shoving them in his stocking.   Hope to finish them soon.

That’s all that is going on around here.  What’s happening with y’all????
