Monument Valley

On Thursday Lisa, Lori and Michelle were planning a big, long hike to Pinnacle Point via Indian Gardens.  For various reasons it was decided that I would not hike that day.  Instead, I took off in the rental car and headed to the Arizona/Utah border and had a great adventure.

There was one notable exception to the “great adventure”…. I got in a screaming match with an inanimate object.  Namely… the Garmen GPS that got herself a bit confused.  The silly thing kept telling me to turn around and “recalculating” when I was going the right direction.  Then I started arguing with her… as if she could actually hear me and I my frustration grew to the point that the altercation became physical.  I actually stopped the car, unplugged the silly thing and stuck her in my knitting bag waaaaaay in the back of the trunk.  Then, because I am nothing if not mature, I shouted “so there” and slammed the door.

I then, feeling quite proud of myself, resumed the “great adventure”.

The little mound is the house.  I saw several of these throughout the day.  It was quite interesting being on the reservation.   I had a great day.

  1. The photographs are marvelous! I’ve never seen the Grand Canyon from the ground. Flying over it just doesn’t do it justice, does it?

Good for you, winning the argument with the Garman. I think my husband is in love with his. All I know is that they are together about 1000 miles a week and every time he calls on his cell phone, I can hear her talking in the background.

Maybe I’ll stuff her in the trunk?!?
