Knitting Progress

Yep….actual knitting progress!

I finally blocked the Forest Path Shawl.  It is intended to be a bit more of a shoulder shawl.

If I had it to do all over again, I probably would have added some more repeats.  I thought about doing that at time but I was trapped in the Charlotte airport and not in a “good mental place”. So…. doing the mathematics was out of the question.

I also started a new project.  I am trying to get over my “I refuse to wear anything sleeveless” issues and I am knitting a tank.  Now, knitting a project that has no ability to leave you stranded on sleeve island is a mighty fine thing!  We’ll see if I can actually keep the “My arms are to fat/floppy too wear this thing” neurosis in check.

Tank Whose Name I Can’t Remember

This tank is out of a Creative Knitting magazine and I can’t remember the name of the pattern.  I’ll look…later…..pinky swear.  Believe it or not… I’m using Lion Brand Cotton Ease for this project and I really like it.  I swatched with 8 other yarns, everything in the shop, everything in the stash….to no success.  Everything got gauge but was too wooly bully for a tank.  The Cotton Ease actually worked well and so far, so good.

That’s about all that I’ve got going on around here.  What are you working on?

  1. Nice shawl! And I just love Cotton Ease. I have a bunch of the old colors in the stash, nice Crayola kind of colors. OK, now I should actually dig it out and knit with it.

  2. I just bought some Encore today because two little girls are going to need warm woolies come fall! Ben and Abby are on their way back to the Pacific Northwest! Of course, we’re thrilled, but sorry we won’t be seeing you in Orlando anymore. Glad we at least made contact last time.

  3. Love your tank. I say just put it on and wear it :) I have issues with my body too, but I don’t think anybody really pays attention anyway. I’ve actually pulled my two sweaters out that need finished up and am working on those. I should actually be able to wear them this fall – yay!!!!!

  4. I am finishing the Gail (Nightsongs) shawl; it’s really pretty. I would have been done early this morning if I hadn’t had so much yarn left. I decided to add to it and use up some of the yardage; plus, it looks a little too small right now.

There are socks, socks, doilies and a snood waiting on the UFO list.
