Dead Battery

Ya know, if I’d remember to charge the darned thing then things like this wouldn’t happen!

When I was at the fiber fest this past weekend I purchased something off of my wish list…my "gotta have" list….  2 skeins of Socks that Rock!!!!!!  I finally got around to taking a photo today but as I was downloading the pictures the camera lost it’s last bit of juice.  So, it’ll have to wait until the little guy gets his energy back.

I’ve been working on the cut-out cardi.  I finished the left front and I’m planning on casting on the right front tomorrow.  I’m also working on sock #2 of the crooked cable socks.  I’ve finished the heel and gusset decreases.  Now I’m just knitting and knitting and knitting to get this thing big enough for my freakishly long foot. (I wear a size 10 1/2 shoe also known as "clown shoes").

I keep hearing lots of claims of doom and gloom from local weather wonks.  Threats of sub-zero wind chills etc BUT NO SNOW.  Now, I’m sorry.  If it gets that kinda cold there darn well better be some snow on the ground or I’m gonna be writin’ somebody a letter!!!!!!!!!!!

What I’m not sure about is whether all of this bad weather is going to be hitting Enumclaw.  Usually we’re about 5 to 10 degrees cooler than the towns over by the sound.  But the temps on T.V. make it seem like the really bad wind chills, etc will be closer to the water.  But….. I’ve only lived here for 2 weeks….what the heck do I know?!!??  I do hear the wind kickin’ up outside but I’m not stickin’ my nose out there to see what the temp is like!  Even if Enumclaw doesn’t get all of the bad stuff, we’re goin’ to have to deal with it anyway.  AG and I have to drive into Kent tomorrow for therapy and then we’re all going into Kent again tomorrow night.

Well, must go lounge in the tub.  I’m still reading the David Rakoff book but to be quite honest, I’m having to force myself to finish it.  I always enjoyed seeing him in interviews or listening to him on NPR but I’m just not enjoying this book at all.  So much so that I may soon stop forcing myself and just give up!  We’ll see.

Toodles!

  1. You’re going to love the STR – I did my first pair of socks several months ago and I would definitely buy it again. And I’m with you – temps this cold without snow should be illegal. If you find out who to write – let me know?

  2. Oh, that sounds like me! (clown feet) funny because my 13 yrold girl is in 10’s and we joke about this! I have to say I just love your “C” picture! Picture of perfection-just gorgoues!…and then the sleet?! I love how you captured that! Sure it wasn’t syrophone alien passing over? HA! The ‘Freakonomis’ book sounds interesting…
