Joe Camel

The 50/50 blend of camel and silk finished drying.  Here’s the skein…. Spinning this was beyond my skill level.  I managed to survive but the yarn is a bit wonky in places.  I’m stickin’ to wool for a while (except I’ve got that tussah silk roving…. oh never mind!).

Fiber Related Endeavors

I’ve been slacking off with the knitting.  Lost my mojo.  I’m hoping it will return soon.  I have done some spinning.  I spun the 50/50 blend of camel and silk and plied it (2 ply).  I put it in the sink today for a good soak and I took a photo.  However, the camera apparently […]

What’s Up?

What has been happening in Casa de Wannabe?  Well….. We went to the spring fair:  Anna Grace had a lot of fun checking out the llamas and riding rides.  Here’s a photo of her on a little canoe ride. While at the fair I may have lost my mind.  I bought a fleece.  A Targhee […]

Crying A Lot, Dyeing A Lot

Hello. Thank you, all of you, for all of your kind emails, comments and well wishes.  Anna Grace and I returned home on Wednesday night/Thursday morning.  I kept it together as best I could while in NC but "lost it" as I drove out of the drive way and headed to the airport.  I’m shocked […]

Stepfather went back to the nursing center day before yesterday. Today he went back into the hospital.  Has pneumonia. […]

Updates

I figured some updates were about due… 1. Stepfather.  SF was put back in the hospital last week due to an infection.  It is unclear when he will be able to return to the nursing facility.  My mom is holding up okay.   Her close friend just passed away and she is taking care of her […]

No Proof

I got together with Michelle (who was visiting from British Columbia) and Lorette yesterday and we had a world class yarn crawl.  But, I have no proof.  Why?  Left the camera at home. (Doh!) I do have loot.  Will that provide me with enough proof? I came home with all sock yarn.  There’s Fleece Artist, […]

Mommy in Coma

That’s Anna Grace speak for "Mommy’s in Tacoma".  I have been at Madrona Fiber Festival this weekend in Tacoma.  I didn’t stay at the hotel, I just drove back and forth.  Dana stayed home with AG and when I returned home on Friday night Anna Grace pointed at me at shouted "Mommy’s in coma".  Throughout […]
