Boxes

I could show you all sorts of photos of all the cool things I did today.  But, the cool things weren’t very photo worthy.

So what did I do?  Boxed up yarn.  Lots and lots of yarn. (YAY!!!!!)

Y’all like your Dream in Color!  We’re already selling out of some of the stuff.

So….what else did I do today?   Well…….

I posted a big long thing on Knitter’s Review that I probably shoulda just kept to myself.  My "mama bear" side came out in regards to the treatment of those who are a bit different.  Dana said it was polite and so did Kathleen.   I guess this topic just brought out some of my worst fears where Anna Grace is concerned.  I just wasn’t prepared for some of the attitudes that were conveyed.  I didn’t expect that within the knitting community.  I also wasn’t prepared for my own emotions on this topic.

So… what else can I ramble about? (I think this post is officially winning the award for my most boring post ever!)

I guess the last thing I can ramble about is the WordPress thing.  I have a question.  Somebody here might know the answer.

When you move to a different blog address, what do you do about your netrings and such that you are on?  Do you just contact each of them to give them the new address or do you rejoin?  How’s that work?

Oh… I thought of one more thing.  Somebody has occasionally been making PPOTP.

  1. I went and read the thread (the whole thing), and I agree your responses were completely in-bounds and appropriate. Go momma-bear!

  2. I agree!! You were spot on with your assessment. Our son doesn’t have autism, but a global developmental delay. But when dealing with him you cannot “beat around the bush”. He is more adept at interpreting social cues than an autistic person, but you still have to be pretty direct with him. You have to look at him in eye and say, “Allen, you’ve told me 20 times about the new Harry Potter movie and that’s enough!” He doesn’t get offended, he just stops. He likes to hang around the library and I’ve told the librarians if he ever gets annoying to just tell him it’s time to go home – directly, but politely and he will do it. By the way, I had sent the “Pants Man” movie to my dil and she said the only way they can get Izzy to stay on the potty is to play it. She loves it!! And we actually have peepage! Intentionally.

  3. I think you posted very reasoned, and reasonable comments over there. I think that, unfortunately, knitters are no different than any other group of people. Some are incredibly compassionate and thoughtful, others, not so much. Sometimes some of the latter just need a bit of education to point out their intolerances. Even as a medical professional I didn’t know squat about these types of disabilities before I met you.
