AG Goes to School

Yesterday was quite an adventure for Anna Grace.  She started daycare/preschool.  She’ll be going two mornings a week for about 3.5 hours.  She had a ball.  I think Anna Grace was particularly pleased at being able to play with other kids and not having to go grocery shopping with mommy (something she hates).

I dropped her off at school and then came back home.  I didn’t really know what to do with myself.  It occurred to me that I had not been in my house (here or in Florida) alone for more than 45 minutes at any time since last June when I wasn’t sick.  On 2 occasions I was too sick to go to church and Dana took AG without me.  But that was it.  It was odd.  Odd good and odd bad.  I missed her but I also got to clean the kitchen and have it stay that way as I finished the job.  When I picked her up we spent a few hours together, really together.  Not mommy doing this and mommy doing that while AG plays.  We just hung out.  Wow.

Anna Grace had so much fun.  She’ll go back on Thursday morning.

I also recently figured out when a neighborhood daycare takes their kids to the park.  So, AG and I had been going to the park about the time the toddler class heads over.  This way she’s getting even more time to play with other kids.  Since they don’t know her well, she’s a bit of a novelty to them and thus she’s quite a hit.

I’m going to keep an eye on AG development wise, etc and if we have any regression, I’ll take her out of daycare.  So far, though, I’ve got a very chatty toddler on my hands.

  1. Glad she enjoyed school! She seemed a very sociable girl to me, and I can’t imagine daycare setting her back or her not enjoying it.
