Adventures in Spinning

I had a great time at spinning class.  First, the drive was awesome!  I drove to Seattle and was coming into town just as the sun was setting.  First, there was a very vibrant rainbow.  The colors didn’t show up completely in the photo but it was a stunner.  And yes….. I did take pictures of things while driving.  Driving 75 -80 mph.  On I-5.  What’s your point?   (May I just point out that Washingtonians drive a wee bit too slow?  This observation has nothing to do with me being a lead foot.)  Anyway… brace yourselves.  Bad photography up ahead.

Here’s the sun settting on the Seattle skyline….

The black stripe is my windshield wiper (I told you bad photography was up ahead).   I did turn off the wipers and take the photo again but that one came out blurry.  I didn’t notice it was blurry because I didn’t check it close enough.  Afterall, that wouldn’t have been safe while driving 75 mph down I-5.

I loved my spinning class.  I’ve taken an Ashford Traveler home with me.  At first I was using a Lendrum single treadle in class and things weren’t going well.  I realize that things weren’t going well for anyone but they were particularly troubling for me.   Shirley, our instructor, recommended that I try a double treadle.  Now we’re cookin’ with gas!  Not long after that I got "into the groove" and was happy happy happy.  My fiber is still uneven, over spun, blah blah blah but…. its winding onto the bobbin and I am progressing.  Woo Hoo.

After class I had another fun time in the car.  I drove home watching the Seattle skyline and all the city lights.  No photo.  Couldn’t find the camera.  Just trust me, muy gorgeous.

  1. i have a lendrum double treadle and it is very good workhorse kind of wheel. if you want to try it out, just let me know and we can arrange for you to borrow it sometime.

next time you are in seattle, maybe we could meet up for coffee or something.

  2. I got such a kick out of your post! We just returned from Kissimmee (did I spell that right?) and they drive like maniacs there!!! And fast. I guess we are a little more laid back here. Next time I see a wild Florida woman driving down I-5 speeding and taking pictures I’ll wave, ’cause I’ll know it’s you. By the way, my E was education too.
