and a small little reality check.
First the false hope….
We only have wild speculation at this point but it appears that there is a possibility that some of AG’s therapy may be covered under the new insurance. Nothing official. Just a healthy dose of false hope.
Reality check….
One last day of potty training. Tried multiple things without success. I put a pair of undies on her this afternoon and a diaper cover. Took her in to do our hourly "potty time" and she was soaked. And she didn’t care. Not ready yet.
I’ll wait a few weeks and start all over again. (Joy!)
We do have a deadline here. The kid HAS to be potty trained by August for preschool. Yes, I can play the "discriminating against a disabled child who has a neuro disorder" card but that won’t lead to good ongoing relationships. So, I’d rather avoid that step and just have the kid go pee pee on the potty by August!!!!!
Try taking her every 30 minutes (or every 20) instead of an hour. Some kiddos just can’t go an hour starting out. Use a kitchen timer so she knows when it dings, off to the potty we go. Yes, it seems like a pain but it worked with one of mine. She just would get so involved in playing that being wet wasn’t a bother until she’d had a taste of dry playtime. ;o)
She’ll get it, probably when SHE decides..just to jerk your chain. (Not really to jerk your chain, but you know)
My dd is almost 3 and I’m having the same issues. I’m not forcing it because we are both getting upset. She will be ready when she’s ready.
