Danny Bonaduce celebrated his 45th birthday.

It was the 43rd anniversary of the German Democratic Republic closing the border between eastern and western portions of Berlin.

Alfred Hitchcock would have been 105 years old on that date.

Iraqi Shia cleric Maqtada al Sadr is wounded in fighting in the city of Najaf.

Julia Child passed away at the age of 92.

Bambi had premiered 58 years earlier on that date.

It was the 91st birthday of stainless steel, invented by Harry Brearley on this date in 1913.

Annie Oakley would’ve been 144 years old.

It was the 86th anniversary of when women first enlisted in the Marine Corp.

Hurricane Charley came ashore at 4 p.m. EDT at Punta Gorda, Florida with windspeeds of 145 mph.

and as that little bugger raced toward Oakland, Florida….

I learned how to knit.

So… today is my knit-a-versary.  I have been knitting now for 2 whole years. And, although he hates it when I say this…. Dana taught me how to knit!  (OK… in his defense…Dana figured out the diagrams in the "teach yourself to knit" book that I dug out of the closet.  I was in search of something to do because waiting for a hurricane is B-O-R-I-N-G! )

I knit a very short scarf that night and finished just in time.  Not long after I was done it was time to run and hide in the closet until the storm finished passing over the house.

So… happy anniversary knitting needles… and yarn… and stitch markers…. and chart holders…. and……

  1. Happy Knitting Birthday! I can’t remember the date I learned to knit. I also can’t believe that you have only been knitting for two years; you’re a better knitter than most “two-year olds”.
    I also just cannot believe that Danny Partridge is 47. That is just so wrong.
