You Might Want to Sit Down

I started receiving emails and comments with folks wondering if all is well since I haven’t blogged for a while.  Well… all is just fine.   But… you might want to sit down for this.

I’m pregnant.  I am 9.5 weeks, feel pretty wonky and have a wicked case of vertigo.  Other than that….all is well.

I tend to keep things like being pregnant quiet because, in truth, I’m not all that “good” at being pregnant.  This is my 6th pregnancy (we think, I’m sorry to say we have kinda lost count) but Anna Grace is our only child.  So, I wait until things appear to be going well before I spill the beans.

That day is today.  We got a sonogram today, baby has a heartbeat and was even “waving at the camera”.  My due date is around April 24.

The timing isn’t the best but I’m still very thankful that we have such a blessing in our lives.  And it may be denial but I’m choosing to believe that this whole job situation of Dana’s will be resolved before this kiddo arrives.

There’s a bit of a tradition around here of “naming” the babies before they arrive.  It started with Noah and he or Isaac was Fritter (I tried desperately to get Lisa to call Noah “Taco Bell” but she wouldn’t go for it).  The tradition continued with each of us.  Anna Grace was Sprout and this little one will now be referred to as…….

  1. Well, HELLO SPRIG!!!!! (Noah was “Fritter”…Isaac was “Beaker” – homage to his roots in assisted reproduction)…
    I can’t wait.
And now I can finally run my mouth about it. 😉
    Love ya’ll…

  2. oh my goodness! Good for you! Wow–that is big news. I hope the vertigo passes and everything is smooth sailing. I’m so happy for you, Kris.

  3. Oh, congratulations! Excellent news.

I hope you’re feeling better soon. Pregnancy is hard enough when everything is perfectly aligned and you have no greater worries than nursery decoration themes.

  4. Go Sprig! Go Sprig! Oh Yeah! Happy dance! Happy dance! My dad said to tell you congrats. Love that “Beaker” thing. We should have called Mad “Test Tube”. I may mess up and call your little one “Sprog” – which is an endearing term for a wee one in NZ.

  5. CONGRATULATIONS!!! I was sitting here reading your blog and asked Abby if she wanted to hear the latest news from Kris. I then flipped my computer around so she could see. She sends her congratulations too. We are so happy for you.

  6. Oh wow!! Congratulations! I pray everything goes well, and that Sprig makes a happy April arrival. My son was born on April 23, so it’s a great month. HUGS!

  7. So happy for all of you! Will be praying for a quick and uneventful pregnancy! (I didnt’ much like being pregnant…not good at it at all!)
