Where’s Waldo???

Otherwise known as Where’s Kris?  I haven’t blogged in several days.  I thought about it but never quite got around to it.  Nothing real distracting.  Many of the days I was actually…  um…. knitting.  Think of that.  Knitting.  Instead of blogging about knitting. What a concept.

Anyway… today I present to you a post of random thoughts, illiterate grammer (Hi Dad) and bad photos.

Topic 1: Eris
I finished the knitting on Eris quite some time ago.  I think it was last week.  I didn’t stitch it up because I had a nagging feeling that I had missed one repeat on sleeve #2.  In other words, sleeve #2 would be one inch shorter than sleeve #1.  I held them up together and they seemed to be equal in length.  Still, I had a sick feeling that I really shouldn’t stitch this thing together.

Today I decided to face reality. I put Eris on so any arm length discrepancies would be undeniable.  Yep. Missed a repeat.  (Whoopsie!) So I ripped out the cuff of sleeve #2, picked  up the stitches and added in the repeat.  I even finished  up the cuff (again).  All the while cleaning off the Tivo.  I love cleaning off the Tivo.

Here are some bad pictures of Eris…

In other Eris bad news, I noted today that Eris is a bit itchier than I expected.  Sigh.

Topic 2: Blog Hits

I seem to be the "go to girl" for "Fire Jeff Bowden" info.  I am getting ten tons of hits a day.  I dreamed of this moment.  I just  hoped that this moment would be about the knitting.  Nope.  Maybe we should teach  these irritated Seminole fans to knit. ( It’ll help their blood pressure. ) Seeing as there was a huge surge in Jeff Bowden hits yesterday afternoon and evening…. and seeing as I was unable to watch the game…. I’m taking that surge in hits as a confirmation that things didn’t go well when FSU and Boston College met yesterday.  When the nausea passes (or the indifference sets in) maybe I’ll actually look up the score.

Topic 3: Weather

It’s been rainy, nasty and gloomy… until yesterday.  The sun came out and all was glorious. Fall colors are everywhere and I’m loving seeing all the fall leaves.  I really like seeing fall leaves with the sun out.  Last night God decided to give me a little reality check.  We  had our first windstorm of the season.  Didn’t make much of a mess in the yard. It did, however, manage to gather up a huge pile of leaves on our back porch.  Such is life.

Topic 4: Saturday Sky

I thought about it.  Then I forgot about it.  Then I thought about it again.  Skipped it.

Topic 5: Anna Grace

AG has had a bit of a set back this weekend.  She’s acting quite strange and her language has bottomed out a bit.  It was really bad yesterday but today she seems to be improving.  Not sure what all this was about.  Hoping things return to their previous level in the next few days.

Topic 6: Socks
I have been working on a pair of socks using Socks That Rock in the colorway called Farmhouse. I’m doing a simple 3 x 3 rib.  This is my first time knitting with STR.  I like it although I think it is overspun just a smidge.  When you’re knitting 2 socks on 2 circs, keeping your yarn untangled is a bit of a challenge.  When above mentioned yarn likes to twist back onto itself….mega challenge.  It hasn’t been a huge problem just a bit of an irritation.  Other than that, love the yarn.

Here’s a blurry picture of the socks in progress….

Well, that’s about all I have to report for now.  Maybe I’ll stitch up Eris in the next few days.  Time will tell.

Toodles!

  1. Isn’t the mascot of Boston University a terrier? How can they not beat a team whose mascot is a yappy little dog? The socks are gorgeous. I’ve only done one pair in STR, but they are my favorite pair to wear. Gotta get more!

  2. Gosh…I’m glad I’m not the only one! I feel the exact same way..I like how your summerized it in your ‘topics’. You know ho things go in blogland…sometimes those of us are feeling the same way and the reverse is true when we are on the ‘up&up’ with creative energies!
