What I Did This Weekend….

or…. How to Have a Really Bad Weekend!

Very little knitting was done.  No spinning was done.  No fun was had.

What did I do????

Well, I…..

listened to 72 straight hours of a small child whining
took temperatures
repeatedly wrestled with a toddler to get her to take her medicine
bargained with a toddler to get her to drink, eat, etc.
bribed toddler unsuccessfully
did I mention the whining?
slept (if you want to call it that) with small toddler foot palpating my left kidney…. for 2 nights
cleaned up various and assundry toddler bodily fluids at various times throughout weekend
sat in doctors office waiting room
filled antibiotic prescription for ear infection that is just a "bonus" on top of our little stomach disorder
sat, forever, with small toddler on my lap or attached to my person in some way or fashion
listened to small toddler cry and cry and cry if I tried to leave the room or have her sit with her dad
watched 1536 episodes of Play With Me Sesame
I did mention the whining, didn’t I?
watched 1126 playings of various Baby Einstein videos
lots of laundry, oh my heavens the laundry!

It appears that tomorrow will be filled with more  of the same.  My sanity is in jeopardy.  I’ll post when I can.

  1. Ah Kris – you’re making an empty nest seem not so empty! I do sympathize. I remember those days well. This too shall pass- hope AG feels better soon.

  2. Oh, I know how that is…at the moment with a son home for stomach flu from last night at 2-sickness is easier at age 9……but I’m feeling you baby! Hope things get better! Take a nice long bath tonight!

  3. My dear, the thing for you is to get on that internet and buy some pretty yarn. Even if you don’t have time to knit it up, knowing that it’s coming will make you feel better.
Hope the girlie is better soon.

  4. I hope she’s better soon. You poor thing. We have the starting of Fifth’s Disease at our house…joy oh joy.
I did find a way to get my toddler to take his meds. I bought gummy vitamins and I guess they’re special because he can only have them once a day (or twice if you give him one at a time). I tell him to take his meds and he can have the gummies…he gulps down the meds, says “Nasty..now gummies” and it’s not that bad. Also, the flavoring that the pharmacy can add for flavor is awesome.
