We had a nice weekend… much of it with a “duck” theme. Why? Because with our Five in a Row routine, we’re reading Make Way for Ducklings. Since the ducks in this book have a treacherous walk to their new home, dodging cars and such, I thought of the perfect place to visit.
There’s a little retention pond that has ducks and geese and snake birds. And it is right at this busy intersection. I always wonder why those ducks stay there but there are tons of the them. Since it is reminiscent of the book… we went to feed the ducks.

This weekend’s activities also included three letterboxes…one of which was inside Cafe Tu Tu Tango. So….. we combined letterboxing and tapas. Yum! One of our letterbox finds involved seeing some of the artwork that is around Orlando. As a result we found this….
The Great American Horse Statue – International Drive
From here it was off to the Peabody Hotel. In their lobby is a fountain where some ducks spend their days. They are marched into the fountain at 11 each morning and the Duckmaster comes to retrieve them at 5 every afternoon. The whole process is complete with a red carpet and a marching song. We got to the lobby early and were able to read our Make Way for Ducklings book one more time before all the festivities started. Anna Grace had a lot of fun.

Other events from this weekend included making an attempt at getting a Christmas card picture taken and going to First Baptist Windermere to see Lori sing in their Christmas concert. And what a concert it was…. we had a blast.
Hope y’all had a great weekend as well.
