Third Quarter Knitting Report

I wasn’t finished with the sock in time so I’m posting during commercials. All was going well with the game…then history began to repeat itself. We even blocked a punt at the 5 yard line but weren’t able to score. FSU decided to try for a field goal (by this time they’d had some penalties that backed ’em up to the 20 yard line) and what happened to the kick? Wide left. I’m not kidding. It’s unreal.

So, 4th quarter is getting started. Score is 10 to 7 (FSU) and if Miami pulls this off every news outlet will be showing that wide left kick for the rest of the season!!!!! Once again, as in years past, both teams have a weak offense and great defense. Same game…different year. Its starting to feel like the movie Ground Hog Day.

On to the knitting….

Dana came home this weekend and he brought a pressie!!!!

Inside was the most beautiful yarn. Its Manos del Uraguay in these rich fall colors. The photo shows more purple than you see with the eye. It’s mainly auburns, purples, coppers. Amazing. Take a look.

Here is sock #2.

I can tell I’ve been a bit more stressed while knitting sock 2 than sock 1. I’ll see if I can help that with the blocking. Lets hope! I still have to weave ends, etc. The CP’s will be hitting the trash bucket any minute now. I did order some more dpn’s over the weekend and I’m anxiously awaiting their arrival. I’m not starting another sock until they get here!!!

And now here’s Rogue. I have finished chart A and I’m getting ready to start the process of dividing the front and the back. This pattern is like heroin for knitters!! I can’t walk away. I have to keep going and going.

Finally, a picture of Anna Grace from last year’s football season. Its hard to believe she was that small last fall.

I’m off to see my mother tomorrow. This will be a long day. She is down from N.C. to her vacation place (?) in Inglis. Inglis is a small town on the western side of the state. You can only get there through small two lane roads so it takes a bit. We’ll drive over tomorrow morning and head back in the late afternoon or early evening. I guess this will be a practice run for the cross country drive.

Well…. I’m off. Gotta watch football.

What kind of needles did you buy? Are you returning the CP? Don’t give up on the CP, you just got a bad pair, I *heart* mine!
