The Socks are being blocked

I fixed the toe. I decided I liked the toe on Sock 2 better than Sock 1 (this is beginning to sound like Dr. Seuss…. Thing 1 and Thing 2). So… I undid the toe of Sock 1, had a few cardiac arrests and I did the best I could to graft a nice toe. Kitchener stitch…. seams…. these things are not my friends!

The UPS man came today…. Looooovvvveeee the UPS man. He never brings bills just pressies and purchases. Brown is such a nice color. Here’s what he brought me….

Its a Gateway Laptop (used) that I bought off ebay. I wanted it so I could have a non-mac computer to use knitting software, etc and I can blog with it when I drive (if I EVER drive) to Washington. Yep… I bought a computer to knit with. There. I said it. It’s true. A computer for knitting. (those shepherd’s who invented knitting are probably rolling over in their graves!).

Anna Grace also enjoyed the visit from the lovely brown truck…. first she tried to bolt out the door but Momma was on her heels and her evil plan was foiled again. heh heh heh. But all was not lost. She got to play with bubble wrap. (Actually Mom used the bubble wrap to distract the toddler so Mom could toy with her new computer).

Secret Pal news……
Now that Secret Pal 6 is started I realize I am delinquent in introducing my new friends from Secret Pal 5. I identified myself but I didn’t introduce them to you.

First…. my spoiler…..

I was nicely spoiled by Kim. Kim is a cake designer and I am in awe of her. I have alway (ALWAYS) been fascinated with how these beautiful wedding cakes are thought up and created….. very cool. She chose some of the most beautiful (and soft) yarns for me and always had timely delivery of chocolate. I like that in a person! Anyway, stop by and tell her hello. She is so kind and spoiled me absolutely rotton. OK…. I was already a little rotton but she sealed the deal!

I had the pleasure of spoiling Janet and she is way cool. Check out those cool glasses. When I saw that photo I thought this chic is waaaayyyy cooler than me. The SP folks matched us up because I live in Oakland, Florida and she lives in Oakland, California. I have so enjoyed reading her blog, she’s got a great writing style. Very fun, very cool. So… go say hello to her as well.

SP 6 is starting. I got a nice email from the person who is spoiling me. She seems very kind. I have to contact my new spoilee. I am going to do SP 6 but if there is a sockapalooza 3 anytime soon I’m going to sit this one out. With all the wackadoodle stuff going on around here, trying to move (hoping to move), etc I can’t be having knitting deadlines. Plus, I’m about to have a stroke over whether or not this girl is going to like these socks, did I do a good enough job, etc etc etc. I’m going to have to take a nerve pill!

I think I will rescue Rogue from the Isle of Banished Knitting and see if we can’t come to some sort of an understanding over those increases and figure out a way to just get along. We’ll see.
