Before we hunkered in for an evening of packaging yarn and moving blogs, we took a little stroll. Anna Grace rode her “big wheel” and we headed down to the retention pond for our neighborhood. Doesn’t that sound lovely??!!??
So here’s the deal…..
We live just a few blocks from the lake and in a part of the state that is over run with development. Almost all natural habitats have been destroyed or greatly altered. So, you often see water fowl and such living in the bazillions of retention ponds around this area. Our little subdivision is no different except that we often have close to a hundred birds over there. Of course, as soon as we showed up, almost all of them flew away!
There are close to 50 of these things here every day. Occasionally they wonder around the neighborhood.
Here’s Anna Grace complaining that the birds won’t come to her and her mother won’t let her swim in the retention pond.
So welcome to the new blog. I don’t know how to work everything just yet but we’re getting there.
love the new blog!
Found you! Love the banner up top! And nice white ibises….
I love the new blog! Heh, redneck engineering, indeed! That photo of AG in the banner is a hoot.
We used to live on a lake when the youngest two were little. The geese and the swans were fed almost daily by the eldest daughter, they loved popcorn and saltines. Watch them in nesting season though, they can get a little mean.
Looks like she is having a great time
I ♥ the new digs! Love the banner too! I wonder have you ever tried to teach AG to knit?
Wow…your own website. That’s a pretty big step (and a huge pain to make it happen, I imagine!). It looks great, and I laughed out loud at the banner photo.
I made it over! Nice!
