Friday afternoon Anna Grace and I met Dana after work. We loaded up in the car and headed for Anacortes to catch the ferry. En route we didn’t hit much traffic until we were north of Seattle. Once we got a bit farther up we started to see Mount Baker in the distance. Very cool. (Warning… bad photography up ahead).
While we were en route I intended to work on my Jaywalker socks. But… alas… I had accidently knitted them together and I just wasn’t "on my game". My every attempt to tink back was met with lots of dropped stitches. Not only dropped, but stitches that took off like wildfire as soon as they escaped from the needles. I just gave up.
Anna Grace wasn’t very impressed with our journey or the beautiful view of Mt. Baker. Here’s her review of the afternoon:
We got up to Mt. Vernon at an odd time. To late to get dinner and be able to catch the very next ferry but a bit too early for eating dinner and getting the last ferry. It was inevitable that somewhere along the line we were going to have a bit of a wait. A wait where we would need to keep a nearly 2 year old child entertained. This should be fun.
We went and got dinner then headed to Anacortes and caught the last ferry. AG ran amuck through the ferry station. Most people were somewhat entertained by her as long as she wasn’t squealing. When she decided that her life could not be completed unless she screamed and squealed continuously, then we had to put her back in the car until time to load up. She wasn’t pleased.
We caught the ferry and eventually got to Friday Harbor around 10 ish. By that time I was dead tired and just wanted to see my bed.
