There’s an awful smell around here at Chez Wannabe… smells awful! What stinks so bad? My ability to stitch up a seam, that’s what! My seaming stinks but, once again, after multiple attempts and ripping, I’m sticking with what I have right now. In other words, this attempt looked better than the others, while simultaneously looking horrid, so I decided not to tempt fate by trying one more time. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again… Its not fair to have to stitch things up in the middle of the pattern. That torture should be saved for the end!!!!
My finishing techniques are, I believe, hopeless. I read all the instructions, watch the knitting help videos and still end up with some awful looking thing. I figure that today’s seaming is on the hood, which will likely not be worn much, and, therefore, the seams will not be readily visible… I think (and beg… and plead… and whine…..).
Here’s photos of Rogue’s body with hood attached. I had photos of me modeling the thing but they looked rather freakish (me, not the knitting) so I decided to show you the progress shot sans knitter.
You’ll note the front pocket is missing. I decided that since I am constantly in a battle with the belly bulge that I didn’t really need a pocket to add extra bulk to the ol’ gut! So, no pocket for me!
I am finished with the leg portion of sock #1 and am in the midst of starting the heel flap. I realized that I didn’t have a photo when I started to post and then figured that it took me 2 days to sit down at the computer so I’m not turning back now. I’ll post sock photos later.
In house news, grrrrrrrrrrrrr!
The buyer had second thoughts. Long (and quite irritating) story. He may be back, he may not. So, we’re back on the market. Mentally, I really felt like we were on the market the whole time so no brain adjustment needed. We are starting to wonder if and when we should give up, turn back, did we make a mistake, etc. Dana is looking for a job here in Florida just in case the house doesn’t move along. He works for a great company and great people in Washington so it would be a bummer to give that up. I guess we’ll just need to see what happens. Not going to worry about it, too tired.
Tired???? Why????
Got a cold. Or, as it is affectionately known in this household "The Creepin’ Crud". Drugged up on cold meds, etc. Why can’t the manufacturer’s of cold meds make the "drugged up" sensation of their products as good and wonderful as, say, the pain medication folks? Those meds give you a nice nap, full nights sleep, etc. Cold meds have me doin’ the jitterbug! Such is life. Dana has been home for a few days doing hurricane clean up so at least I didn’t have to take care of AG by myself when I didn’t feel so hot. I am getting a bit concerned that she may be catching my "crud" so I’m keeping an eye on her.
Speaking of Anna Grace, here are some photos of her in her "winterized" mode….
An appeal was made with the Part C program regarding Anna Grace’s therapy. Her speech therapists think she really does need some O.T. due to some sensory seeking behaviors. I was worried that this might be a battle (I’m not in the mood for more drama) but I spoke with AG’s family care coordinator this morning and was informed that once the paperwork arrives it is highly likely that O.T. will be approved for her. Wow, no fighting, wrangling, etc. I needed something to go nice, smooth and easy.
Well, I have Rogue sleeves to cast on, knit, etc. I think I may try to knit them at the same time. This is either a really brilliant idea or a quite stupid one. We shall see.
Toodles!
