Here is a close up photo of the stitching on the gift project.  It’s a 5×3 ribbing which is not exactly what I might call exciting or exhilarating…. not by any means what so ever.  I haven’t even completed piece #1 so I’m having doubts that this will be finished in time.

I’m using knitpicks’ 100% baby alpaca.  This is so soft it’ll near about put you in a trance.  I think it will be nice and soft to wear.  I’ve said it before but, again, this stuff knits up in such a way that it has a great drape.  I am wondering how well it holds up in the long run.  Will pilling be a problem, etc.

The new splicing trick has been a godsend!  Millions of little ends that I will never have to weave in.  Makes me happy just thinking about it.
