Saturday Sky Attempt #2

Dana got the camera to download.  I still think it’s acting a bit strange.  I think the problem is that the camera and the computer are not "playing well with others".  Hopefully they’ll get over themselves here soon and we’ll have no further difficulties.  Moving on….

Saturday Sky
Here’s the picture I took from our front yard yesterday afternoon.  The mountains are the Cascades.  Lovely weather we’re having, eh?  (O heavens, I just used the word "eh".  The other day I caught myself calling a soda a "pop"….. a slang I hate.  I think my southern-speak may be fading a bit with my proximity to the great white north.  The twang seems to be holding strong but saying "pop" with a southern accent sounds even more ridiculous than my usual twanginess alone.)

Knitting Progress (A.K.A. a finished object)
Here is Leaf Lace Shawl after being blocked.  I think I’m ready to give this lace thing another try.

Accidents Happen
Friday afternoon I put Anna Grace down for her nap.  She was in there talking and jumping and then THUD!  I bolted in and found her on the floor.  I keep the front rail of her crib down since she learned to climb out.  I figured it would be a lower place to fall from.  But… I don’t think she fell while trying to climb out.  She has a big goose egg on her forehead and then a good case of road rash on her nose and upper lip.  The goose egg had the indentions from the carpet beneath her bed for a good 36 hours.

Here’s the evidence.  The goose egg has faded.  The road rash would clear up if she would stop touching it. There was crying, and nose bleeds and crying and…. oh the trauma (and the drama).  She shook it off eventually but it took a bit to recover.  She did not, however, learn her lesson about jumping in her crib.  By Friday night she was back at it.

Other Knitting Progress:
I am working on a baby gift.  I actually finished the first part last night during the disaster drill FSU/Clemson game.  Now I’m working on phase 2 and either I can’t count or there is an error in this pattern.  If history is any indicator the problem is with my counting, not with the design.

Eris is still cruising along.  I’m trying to get her finished up since it has turned a bit nippy here.  It is time for  a nice woolie sweater. I have finished the front cable corners and I’m now working on the back cable corners.  Once that is finished I’ll do the sleeves and get it on the blocking board.

  1. love the shawl!

I’d like to see it… when my schedule frees up and I can make it to Starbucks will you bring it so I can see it live and in person? PLEASE…

…kids are so durable… I once saw a little kid in swim bottoms that had ‘DUPONT’ marked across the back side… it was so appropriate! They get banged up and come out in the end ok… more or less.
