Saturday Sky

We were supposed to have a rain filled day.  I think if we had stayed home we would’ve seen nothing but rain and clouds.  We, however, did not stay home and discovered a pleasant surprise.  Weather wonks were a little off their game when they said that the whole area would be covered by doom, gloom and all sorts of storms today.

This smidge of sun disappeared just seconds after I took this photo.

We went to Tacoma and discovered blue skies.

We went to the Museum of Glass today and had a great time.  That cone is the hot shop which has furnaces and such for creating the works of art.  There’s also theatre seating so you can sit and watch… which we did.  Very cool!  I’m fascinated by glassworks so I concluded that the seating in the hot shop would make a great knitting spot.  Next time I visit, I’m bringing a sock or something and just going to hang out for a while.

Another portion of the footbridge.  These are works of Dale Chiluly that are backlit by…. today’s Saturday Sky (yes… I know that was a stretch!)

This is an old train station (still in use) in Tacoma.  I think it is such a neat old building.

I loved the vibrant colors of these leaves.  Autumn is in its last hoorahs around here.  The leaves have been beautiful especially to this little Floridian.
