Couch to 5k is cruising along. Starting with my next run, there are no more “walking” phases except for the warm up and the cool down. Earlier this week I ran 20 minutes straight and that shocked me. I never thought I’d get to this point, didn’t think it was possible. I can’t say I enjoy the running but I can say that I enjoy the fact that I am getting the running done. At the age of 42 I had 2 young children and no energy. It was time for a change.
So… this Friday I will run 25 minutes straight. Then it increases to 28 and then to 30. At that point, I will have “graduated” from my 9 weeks of funfunfun with the Couch to 5K program. No one is more shocked than me that I actually made it to this point. I hope I’m able to finish the next few weeks. I was fearful, initially, that I wouldn’t be able to but after the last few runs, I’m feeling a lot more confident.
Couch to 5k rocks…and the iphone app really, really rocks!!
I did the c25k too and it was great! did you sign up for a race? i bet you will be super proud of yourself when you realize how fast you can actually complete a race when you have been training for 10 weeks.
have you thought of moving onto a 10k or anything? I use the runkeeper app and I really like it, my husband prefers mapmyrun (or map my fitness) it’s cheaper, but I like runkeeper better
Woo Hoo!
I’m so proud of you! However, I am not in the slightest surprised. You can do anything you put your mind to, missy. How could you forget that?!
xo
so do you have more energy? or do you use it all on the running?? LOL
