Yep…I’ve been a bad blogger. So I am going to torture you with tons of pictures. In other words…I’m going to “catch up” all in one post.
So….what have we been doing?
I’ve been knitting on a tank top but I have no pictures. I’m still knitting on my socks but I have no pictures.
I have other pictures. 😉
We took some promotional photos for the business and I was trying to work Anna Grace into the whole thing. She-Who-Is-Impossible-To-Photograph…ahem….didn’t always cooperate.
We were invited to a birthday party at Alexander Springs and had a fantastic time. I still think of places like this as being so far away but its only about 20 minutes from our house. We had a blast and we totally need to do this more often.
Anna Grace and I have been reading a book called A New Coat for Anna. The story talks about a mom and daughter who barter for wool, spinning, weaving and even make a deal with a tailor….to get Anna a new coat. I wanted to take Anna Grace to visit some sheep to go along with our story. My friend Melissa piped up and said there were sheep at the little farm where she lives.
Sasha (Melissa’s son) has become quite the expert on raising chickens at the farm and he even has a little business selling free range eggs. So if you’re local and you want eggs from grass and grain fed, free range chickens…Sasha’s your man. These chickens enjoy a life of living in fields, pastures, etc.
The chickens are so used to Sasha that he can just carry them around. He picked this one up to give Anna Grace a chance to pet the hen.
Some Once a Month Cooking took place. We now have a freezer that is well stocked.
My mother came to visit this week. One of the things she wanted to do was go and visit some of her friends over on the Nature Coast portion of the state. They have a little farm with pigs and such. Here are some of the pigs…even the piglet….coming to get an afternoon snack.
One of the guys at the farm took Anna Grace and me for a ride on the golf cart….through the fields and trees….off to where the horses and cattle hang out. They know this golf cart means food so we were immediately surrounded.
The cows surrounded us, the horses surrounded us….and they were not going to give up. Eventually we decided to go and find a mare and her new colt.
But the horses had other ideas. They started chasing us…and our golf cart…across the fields. It was really pretty funny.
Eventually we found the mare and colt. The baby was only 24 hours old at the time that we took this photo.
The other activity going on around here is going to see the sunset. We like to walk down to Lake Gertrude and see the sunset at night. We’ve been getting my mom to tag along as well.
Joshua gets to get a little exercise and we get to see the pretty sunset. It has become our evening tradition.
This is just one of the many reasons why!!!
Hope y’all have a great week.
Carpe Llama!!!!!
That picture of you and A.G. is a hoot! You look so professional, but Anna Grace looks very, very suspicious.
Great recap of the week! Thanks for sharing! Those pigs snouts look kinda strange…
Hey, I know those sheep…and those chickens…and that boy. Thanks for coming – we enjoyed visiting with ya – come again soon! You should use that pic of you and AG on your website – it is hilarious! Beautiful sunset!!!
I so love your blog!
And I love the picture of you and Anna Grace. I’d happily patronize any business with that photo!
Hope the new job is going well.
Woo-eee. I can hardly wait till that girl is 13. You might need drugs to get through it.
Your sunset is gorgeous!
LOL at Anna Grace’s expression in the first photo. Get used to it. You’ll be seeing a lot of that kind of look when she hits those teen-age years!! (Ha–just read Lorette’s comment above. She said it so much better than I did.)
