I’ve been working on the Pearl Buck Swing Jacket and really loving the pattern. I started about 2 weeks ago and it is just cruising along. But, due to the Knitting Olympics/Ravelympics starting tomorrow, it is getting ready to be set aside for a brief rest period. Here’s the current progress.
Pearl Buck Swing Jacket: Back View
This is the back of the jacket and the pleat is finished and via the bind off, it is already stitched in place. The top piece is the yoke.
Pearl Buck Swing Jacket: Left Front
This piece is almost complete. I’ve got a few inches to go and I am hoping to finish it later tonight. I don’t want to set it aside for 2 weeks being only partially complete…it’ll be to hard to figure out where I am.
The yarn is DIC Classy in the color Cocoa Kiss and I am loving it. This colorway isn’t as dappled as many of the other DIC colors but I really like it none the less.
So what’s in store for the knitting olympics?
Well I signed up for the Sweater Sprint and I am going to be making the Winter Star Jacket from Interweave Knits, Winter 2005 (same issue also has the Pearl Buck Swing Jacket!). It will be my first intarsia project and I am planning on using Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool. I’m still debating about what colors.
I have the yarn to make this and actually started it a few months ago. I really love this pattern. When my classes are over (soon) and I can actually knit again, I’m going to start this over. Yours is beautiful!!
