I think I’ve won a small battle with the Part C program. AG won her appeal to receive O.T. but the paperwork was all screwed up. She was supposed to have O.T. today but the therapist called and said it wasn’t approved and although Part C told me O.T. 2x per month (which makes no sense!) they told the therapists only 1x per month (making even less sense). So the therapist asked me to call my family care coordinator and see if they could atleast approve 1x/week for AG.
I called, they said no. I was a bit shocked. The family care coordinator left me a message that since they had just approved 2x/month they want to wait until January before they will make another change. Please note above… they are telling me 2x/month but they coded it for 1x/month and my kid is stuck in the middle. I called back. I left a message. I may have been a bit hyper (who????? Me???? Hyper????).
My family care coordinator called back (I must admit, she is very nice and tries to be quite helpful) and she agreed that AG and I being caught in the middle isn’t appropriate. I, in turn, used the word "appropriate" in a sentence as much as I could in reference to Anna Grace ("appropriate" is the Part C buzz word, the more you use it the better off you are) and the family care coordinator agreed to approve O.T. 1x/week. Now, I still think 2x/week would be best for a child AG’s age but I am satisfied with giving this schedule a shot and evaluating if it’s "appropriate" in January.
Although AG had to miss today’s O.T. session, I think she should get it scheduled for later this week. If not, atleast I know everything is settled for next week.
One hurdle down, 24, 479 to go.
Another governmental fubar! Sheesh…but if anyone can break thru, it’s you Kris! That picc of AG above is just lovely! What a beautiful little girl she is!
The socks are quite nice too! I love the yarn and never looked twice at the pattern until now because your yarn and pattern so compliment each other!
(sorry for the triple comment, saving you bandwidth, dontcha know?
