1580 AM in Puyallup had a bad, bad day.  They accidently released a LaHar warning.  For those of you not living in the land of imminent doom…. LaHar is the deadly mudslide that is going to kill us all when Mt. Rainier finally erupts or we have our next killer armageddon level earthquake.

Anyway….  apparently some folks were actually listening to AM radio that day and became quite alarmed (no pun intended).  Here’s the kicker… a software glitch set off the alarm by mistake and THIS IS NOT THE FIRST FALSE ALARM THEY’VE HAD!!!!  Apparently Puyallup officials had heard reports of false alarms being sent over an AM frequency but didn’t do anything about it since they hadn’t heard it with their own ears.  They now promise and pinky swear that they will fix the software issues.

Well, I think these little officials need a name.  So just as the weather guys are Weather Wonks, lets call these guys Volcano Wonks.
