…no…not the baby.
We have another new family member. Dana and I were really struggling over what to get AG for her birthday. She has too many… way too many… toys. I really didn’t want to get the kid anymore toys because… honestly… she didn’t seem to truly appreciate what she had. I had the idea of getting her something living. Dana HATED this idea.
Our cat Molly is 16 and very much “my” cat…even though she’s not that fond of me either. But AG has been complaining that Molly won’t play with her. I thought we could get AG an adult cat that could be AG’s cat and she could play with her, etc. When he could come up with no better idea… Dana eventually agreed.
We told Anna Grace that she could get a cat for her birthday but that we had to find the right cat. It had to a grown up cat, like kids and that it would take a while to find the right one.
Well… it didn’t take too long. We found a cat named Zara at Petsmart. She was a rescue and supposedly a year old. Too young for the deal that I made with Dana. But, the adult cats that we came to see were too heavy for AG to pick up. And Zara kept reaching out to her and to me.
We played with Zara for a while and Dana said he thought she was the right cat. After a little consideration, we adopted her. AG kept saying Sara instead of Zara and so… the name stuck and Sara the Cat now lives with us.
Sara the Cat….Impossible to Photograph
This cat is hyper, steals handknit socks, hates the dog, is just now deciding that she likes AG again and is a total spaz. She is an escape artist and hides better than any cat we’ve ever had. And….I’m seriously suspicious that she is younger than a year.
And with all that…. she fits in just fine and we love her very much.
I love that you adopted a cat. That’s wonderful! I hope that Sara and AG love each other for many many years. Kittie Kisses!!
