I have done some knitting. Occasionally all knitting ceases and I sit in a lump and ponder all the things I have to do that I am not doing while sitting in a lump.
First up…. socks.
One crooked cable sock with unsewn toe. Why unsewn? I can’t bring myself to sew it just yet. I’ll get around to it….soon…..
And… when I had some extended moments of mental clarity I could’ve packed, planned, re-made lists…. but instead I…..
figured out (sorta) the magic loop thing for 2 socks at once.
Next up? Dana’s sweater. I finally put this thing in a wool bath yesterday and then blocked it. It’s almost dry so now it’s on to the seaming. I have a very small amount of yarn left and I thought that wasn’t a problem because, afterall…. I just have seaming, right? Wrong. I still have to do the neck once this baby is stitched up so, I will likely need more yarn. (I think those knitpicks people are going to laugh at me if I order one more skein just one more time!).
Here’s the sweater on the blocking board
And finally, Cutaway Cardigan is progressing. I like the stitches of the Jo Sharp but this wool has some weird conditioner or something on it that makes my hands all greasy. This may not bother some folks but I hate stuff on my hands, hate it bad. When you add this little OCD trait with the fact that I work in the medical field you now have a full understanding as to why my hands appear as if they belong to an eighty year old woman. I’ve never had a yarn do something like that. Is that typical for Jo Sharp? In my opinion, it’s a lot of whatever on this yarn. My hands end up glistening like they have baby oil on them (hate baby oil on my hands!!!). It’s just weird is all I’m saying. Like the yarn but this greasy thing is weird.
Here’s the cardi so far….
Thus completes our ADD Knitting Extravaganza! I’m going to go spend some time with the greasy Jo Sharp.
By the way, thanks y’all for the advice on spindles. I’ve been using your tips to search the internet a bit and see what’s out there. Afterall, what else should a distracted, ADD knitter with a chaotic life do but add one more knitting related thing to her schedule!
Toodles.
I miss you when you don’t post!
Take a deep breath and try to relax…try not to stress over the move. It’s a new beginning
Go gentle hunny, don’t be so hard on yourself, it will all be ok!
That’s not too bad! I’ve got loads more on the needles…I don’t even know where! With all that you have going on…a little ADD is a good thing. You NEED the distraction to stay sane! Trust me! We have moved a lot! Sock looks great. I feel a bit of guilt every time I see it as I haven’t even wound the LL you gave me.
