Hello everyone.
Last evening I returned home from Madrona. Had a great time. I stayed with Lorette and had a total blast. Later Dorothy came down and we had a mini knitting retreat right at Lorette’s house. Unfortunately I didn’t get real great pictures. The ones John (Lorette’s husband) took turned out best, all others were a bit sketchy.
There was great food, great company and lots of knitting. Prior to Madrona, Lorette and I even did a mini yarn crawl through two local yarns shops which was way fun.
Here are a few photos….
Evelyn Clark with Lorette and me after our great class (sorry for the bad photo!).
We took a design class from Evelyn Clark entitled Designing Lace Triangles. It was one of the best classes I’ve ever taken and it really helped me to get a better grasp on lace knitting in general. For those not familiar with Evelyn Clark I’ll bet you’ve seen her designs: Leaf Lace Shawl, Flower Basket Shawl, etc. She was a great teacher and I have to admit I was a little bit star struck with her in the room.
On Saturday I took a class on short row shaping that was fair. But, I did learn to do Japanese short rows so we’ll call it a success!
When not in classes and not spending money at the market place, we would be knitting at Lorette’s house, enjoying the entertainment of the dogs, eating great food or all of the above.
Here’s Lewey (Lorette’s Corgi) and Maggie (Dorothy’s Corgi). These 2 are a hoot. Riley (Lorette’s other dog) was very tolerant of these two children. I didn’t get a picture of Riley but she was a real sweetheart.
Here’s a photo of Lorette, Dorothy and myself on our last evening together. We had a great time.
I arrived home last evening and I think I may have over done it just a bit when it comes ot kissing on Anna Grace. But… I missed my little one so she just better get used to it!!!
Well, must go. I have stuff in the shop that needs cleaning up and tending to.
Love the photos, especially the corgi kids. I have two full corgis, two half corgis(due to an indiscretion on my female’s part) and a hound mix. what a circus. Good thing I live in the middle of a mountain in Montana. What a treat to meet Evelyn Clark. I need some sort of class to get over my fear of lace beyond socks.
OK i don’t know what happened to my comment but I hope this doesn’t get duplicated.
What a treat to have a class with Evelyn Clark, I love her lace designs.
Looks like a good time was had by all, and those corgis are just too cute.
I bet Anna Grace didn’t really mind having all those kisses.
Oh, those corgi’s are just too cute! I bet they are a hoot to watch playing together. Love seeing the pictures, too!
We had the best time…I’m glad you could get here for the weekend, and you are welcome back any time! Thanks again for the yarn!
