We’ve been making some changes around here. The family room and dining area were painted. The couch was donated to a local charity and the overstuffed chairs were moved into the office. All of this was in preparation for the arrival of…..
our new couch. We ordered it in March but it arrived on Saturday. It is a leather sectional that is muy comfortable!!
Here it is with a new lamp and the new wall color. My intent was to paint the walls a light slate blue. Not sure yet if I succeeded.
Other things in the works around here revolve around the need to clean out the extra bedroom. Yep… all those boxes that I hid in there have to be unpacked. This means the closet in that room has to be set up to maximize storage and that all the antique dishes, glassware and fiestaware had to be unpacked. Thanks to IKEA, we found a way to display the antique dishes and glassware (formerly they were displayed in the butler’s pantry at the old house).
This also shows the new wall color for the dining area… a color I’ve used over and over. This is now the third house I’ve owned that I’ve used the color of Clividen (sp?) Leather by American Traditions. I love this color!
There is a glass cabinet in the kitchen that now houses much of the fiestaware and my mini disc pitcher collection is back in the kitchen windowsill. The glass doors on the kitchen display cabinet are frosted, like the little glass window for a dental receptionist. They need to be changed otherwise you can’t see the fiesta as well.
We have until June 21st (approx.) to get the rest of the extra bedroom cleaned out, to get it painted, to change the light fixture, change the window coverings and to get new bedding. The ‘Rents arrive that day and they’ll be staying with us. I didn’t think we’d make it but now I’m seeing things differently. We got most of the boxes undone this weekend and lots of progress was made.
Love the dish display! Does AG like it too?
Looking good! I think the blue is perfect and I’m not a “blue person” at all.
I like the blue, too! I also like the color of your dining room. Getting moved in is just such a pain. It’s probably good that you have a deadline to get all the boxes unpacked though!
