Hold onto your hats, people….

…this is gonna be a long one.  Its been quite a day.

First… the easy stuff:

I got an address for Liz so AG and I went to Target and put together a care package.  I then went to Sip and Knit and got some Lamb’s Pride worsted and I’ve started knitting Liz a hat/helmet liner.  Really like this Lamb’s Pride worsted, its soft, makes crisp stitches and it quite economical.  I think I’ll have to be using this for other things as well.  I’m knitting the hat on a size 6 circ, here’s a photo.

And now… the Stalker Updates:  First – Stalker Wife comes for a visit.

Around lunch time today someone knocked on the door.  I peep through the window and its Stalker’s wife. I look around (a bit tentative about opening the door) and she says "it’s ok, I’m by myself".  When I open the door she asks if I’m ok and starts apologizing for what happened last night.  I’m speechless and I’m thinking did he actually tell his wife about this?  The answer: no.  She saw it all happen.

Apparently Stalker #2 gave his wife some story about why he needed to leave and she was suspicious so she followed him.  First, he went to see another lady that lives down by the lake.  Yep…. I’m not the only one he’s been messing with.  This lady is married to a man who is in the national guard and has been deployed to Iraq.  What Stalker didn’t realize is that this woman is a coworker with Stalker Wife’s best friend so she has been aware of what he’s been doing for nearly a year.

After finding no one home at his first stop, Stalker came here.  Wife saw him approach me, saw me startle and saw me hit him.  She then saw me fall.  She said she was just trying to confirm where he was going and wanted to make sure he didn’t push me or anything like that.  I told her that he didn’t but that I’m very upset by his behavior and I want it to stop now.  She said she understood if I felt I needed to go to the police.  She also cleared up some questions I had about last night.

Where was he parked?  He had parked his truck three doors down at the corner but just around the corner a bit so I wouldn’t be able to sit his truck.

Where was he standing/waiting?  He was standing on the dirt road across the street but in the dark.  He walked up on me from behind.

These are bad photos but give you a bit of an idea of the lack of light…

This isn’t a particularly dark photo, this is about the level of light that is there.  The three shadows are the trees at the end of our driveway, this is where I have to drag the trash out to.  If you look on the right side of the photo you’ll see a small white rectangle, that’s the street sign for the dirt road diagonally across from the house.

Beside the street light is a short palm, the dirt road is just beside that palm.  As you can see, anybody or anything could be standing right there and I’d never see them.  He was standing just off the road, in the dark, and then walked across the street to approach me from behind.  Wife says she saw him walk around me, grab the trashcan, she saw me jump and swing around and hit him.  (I’ve never hit anyone before, self defense is not my specialty, but … I’ll be darned…. she did say that I actually did hit him on the chin… but I did not hurt him in any way.  RATS!  Gotta work on that!).

How long was he waiting for me?  Wife says he was there about 25 or 30 minutes waiting for me.  I had figured if he was waiting for me he’d been waiting  for a while because I ended up taking the trash out about 30-45 mintues later than usual.  Yes… I’m a stalker’s dream… I have a usual pattern and usual routine.

Anyway, she said that she is related to someone in the local police department and that person was going to confront Stalker #2 tonight.  But then…..

Fast forward 4 hours…wife returns and then a deputy sherriff comes for a visit.  Hmmmm

I went to run errands this afternoon while AG stayed with the sitter.  I got home around 4:30 and was probably here about 15 mintues when the doorbell rang.  Its Stalker Wife.  She begins to tell me that Stalker has been arrested but then we are interrupted by the arrival of a deputy sheriff… who is none too happy to see Stalker Wife here speaking with me.  I gather from their conversation that he thinks she is trying to interfere, get me not to talk to him or something.  I tell the  sheriff that Wife has just gotten here and she hasn’t told me anything other than her husband was arrested.  Apparently, Stalker #2 has been arrested for peeking in the windows of a woman on the west side of town.  So… let’s recap.  Stalker #2 is creeping me out, creeping out the wife of an active duty soldier and creeping out some lady who lives on the west side of town.  Here’s the kicker… who told the sherriff about me?  The wife did and told him how to get to my house. ( I am confused as to why this was being handled by the sherriff’s dept and not the local pd, maybe the peeked at lady lives outside town limits?  who knows!)

Sherriff asked me about what happened last night, what has been happening and gave me a good tongue lashing for not calling the cops.  D.Sherriff was the chauvanistic, women are stupid, type but so much so that he was actually funny.  I gave him my reasons and he rolled his eyes.  So… here’s my reasons:

1.  I have just gone to speak with the police chief about Stalker #1, if I go about Stalker #2, they are going to think I’m crazy.

2.  I was afraid to make Stalker #2 mad while I’m living alone.  If he gets all schizo on me, who’s going to get to me first-him or the local police?

3.  Regarding last night… if I called the police…. he’s just going to say that he was trying to help plus, he wasn’t on my property, he was on the right of way.  And…. he’s "offering to help" but I HIT HIM.  So… his story would make sense and nothing would be done or he could do something crafty like press charges against me for hitting him which would be JUST MY LUCK!!!!

I explained all of this to the deputy who explained to me that I "think too much".  The deputy asked me to file charges against him to which I said "for what, scaring me?"  and he agreed, I have nothing to file a complaint with but he needed me to officially provide him with information so they could use it to help hold him.  So we did an information report.

So, as of this writing, Stalker #2 is sitting down in the Po Po (or what we refer to in Orange County, FL as "down at 33rd".  Why?  the county jail is on 33rd street in Orlando.)  Wife swears she isn’t going too bail him out, I’m not sure if I think she’ll stick to that.

By the way, the lady who pressed charges…. she is married and her husband works out of town and returns home on weekends.  Apparently Stalker #2 has a pattern.  While speaking with the wife and the deputy it was revealed that Stalker has done this a lot, even when they lived in other states and he always seeks a married woman with children who is separated (physically not emotionally)  from her husband.

So, with this development, I will have no problem dialing 911 if he shows up around here again, helpful or not helpful.  I hope the wife leaves him in but even if he does he could certainly contact a bondsman on his own. We’ll see what happens.

Odd tidbit: the other day Stalker #2 drove past and I noticed he’d but a new bumper sticker on the back of his truck.  It said "I love my wife".  Somehow, I have doubts.

  1. I must say, I’m relieved that the authorities are involved and that this creep’s in jail for at least one night. And do call 911 if he shows up again!

  2. At least he is jail until he makes his bail. But if he has done this before and his wife stood by him, she is his enabler. He has a problem and needs help. But always keep your portable phone on you when you are outside or wandering around the house.

And as to self defense, aim for the eyes or nose. The nose is easier. Just shove your palm up under it. A broken or bloody nose stops a lot of people. And you can also step on his insole depending on the type of shoes you are wearing. And there is always the fallback of the groin. But everyone does that so the nose is better.
