Hello to Saralyn

The knitblogger we met the other night was Saralyn.  She always sends me the kindest emails/comments.

Not much has been happening around here.  I still haven’t finished the shawl but I’m getting there.  I took Anna Grace hiking up to Goat Falls yesterday.  She liked the first part then wanted to quit. Same story, different day.  I persevered and we went all the way to the falls.   Then I discovered the battery on my camera was dead.  Such is life.  Anna Grace had been acting like she couldn’t possibly walk another step (I carried her most of the way to the falls) but as soon as I said "let’s head to the car" she took off like a shot!  I had been conned. (What else is new?)

I have taken several pictures of my recent yarn purchases, none of which have turned out real well.  In the meantime, here are some more vacation pictures.

Anna Grace is just as fascinated by waterfalls as I am.

Dana is in Chicago this week so AG and I are hanging out.  It’s been a hard day or two.  While we were on vacation I had noticed all these great improvements in AG’s speech, her motor skills, etc.  Those improvements seemed to have slipped away.  Hoping that’s a temporary thing.

The knitting group I go to meets at the library tomorrow night instead of Starbucks.  I think I may try to go just so I can talk to an adult.  I’ll take some toys for AG since the knitters are in their own room.  If it were being held at Starbucks I wouldn’t even attempt it.  I probably won’t even take my knitting with me.  The child doesn’t let me knit when we’re sitting at home, highly doubtful she’ll let me knit when we’re out and about.

Did I tell y’all we got a Concept 2? I hate exercise of any form, plus I’m the most spastic and uncoordinated individual you will ever come across, but I like this thing.  And… I can actually do it.  I rowed a 5K yesterday.  Going to try for another 5k tonight.

  1. Did you happen to go in the drugstore in Cashmere? My brother owns it and is the pharmacist there. There’s an old-fashioned soda fountain in the store, and they also have ice cream and lattes. He is a great source of hiking information as well–loves the out-of-doors, and goes hiking a LOT with his two golden labs.

Thanks for the shout-out. I guess I really should go update my blog if you’re going to link to it. People will go to visit and find out I haven’t written anything in a month. Eeep!

  2. I love the picture of you and AG at the pass. I think that’s one of the most beautiful spots in Washington. I need to go dig out the picture of me and the boys at exactly the same spot – taken about 20 years ago!

  3. The little ones can always tell when Daddy is gone…… At least you have company while DH is in Chicago! I’ll be at home alone when my DH is in Detroit next week.

  4. AG might just surprise you. I always went (still do) prepared for anything and always ended never needing of the stuff. She sure is growing fast!
I’m pretty sure I couldn’t row .005K so I am just speechless at 5K. You go, girl!
