Knitpicks sent me their evil little email today. You know the ones…. You think you’re existing just fine in your little knitting world and then THEY send you an email. Suddenly you need needles, and yarn, and notions. Oh My!
Well this time they really got me. I have been a very good girl this year where Mr. Knitpicks is concerned. I have avoided the Knitpicks Fairies quite successfully. But after today’s email, I’m having trouble. I can’t stop thinking about this sweater.
I gotta have that sweater. This is a problem. I am already working on a sweater for myself that I’m not exactly speeding along in my knitting pace. Plus… I don’t do colorwork. Yes I know that was my knitting New Year’s Resolution. So was exercising but you don’t see me doing that, do you?
I can’t stop thinking about it. Really. How hard could it be (says she who just chucked out a half finished shawl because she seems unable to follow the directions on what is likely the easiest lace pattern on the planet!) (… says she who just told her self there were projects that needed to be knitted for Christmas gifts!) (…. says she who had the bright idea of knitting little Christmas themed gift bags)?
Why did I open that email?! I shoulda just deleted it.
The same evil little fairy found my inbox this morning too!! It looks like a great pattern – one of their best. And you can’t beat the price….Don’t know how long I’ll be able to hold out!!!!!!!
I saw that too – very tempting! I’m holding out for one of my own design though, and the yarn for that is already bought, so I’m standing firm. The little magnetic pattern holder thing caught me eye – how great would that be for lace charts…..
I love that sweater too – but I have too many projects going. But I really do love that sweater. Hey, steeks are not that bad. What’s the absolute worst that can happen – you ruin 30 bucks worth of yarn, no one dies and you try again. But I have yet to hear of anyone who ruined a sweater when cutting steeks. If you want, I will even come down and hold your hand!
I’ve knit a Lopi sweater in the round with colorwork and then a Dale of Norway pattern with colorwork. After the initial intimidation, they are not that hard at all. Even better, no sewing up seams!!!
