Finally!

I posted earlier this month about my never ending search for a new purse.

This started with a fascination over the purses I would see on Etsy.   Then I realized that my wallet was falling apart.  So…. in an effort to be cheap more efficient in how I spent money I got into this never ending spiral wonderful search for the perfect purse that had a built in wallet.

It didn’t end there.  I then decided that the purse should be leather and of a style that I could pretend that I would  carry it for a few years.  Eventually this ended up sounding a bit like the Goldilocks version of shopping for a purse.

This purse is too big.

This purse is too small.

This purse is too ugly.

And so it went.

This may be a good time to pose a question.  Since when did gangsta bling and “I just got out of prison” design elements become hip in the world of handbags?  If that question makes me seem old and out of touch…. so be it.

Where were we?  Oh…. the purse…..

So the shopping for a purse went on and on.  We went to malls, to boutiques, to outlets.  I even shopped on the innernets.

(First one to imply that I may have been over thinking this thing gets smacked!)

And then I bought a purse.  A purse that wasn’t leather. A purse I can’t carry for years.  A purse without a built in wallet…which means I had to buy a new wallet too.  And while I was at it I bought a new keychain.  Ya know…. just as an added bonus!

Where’d I get the purse?  On Etsy.

In other words….I ended up right back where I started!

Boy…. glad I didn’t over think this one! ::snark::

  1. Very cute! And I’ve just decided that I’m never going to find the perfect purse/knitting bag, so I just buy a bunch of cute ones and hope for the best.

  2. That is a cute purse. And I don’t think there is any such thing as “the perfect purse”. I thought I had the perfect purse, with the built in wallet and leather for durability and longevity, but my 16 year old tells me all the time how “last year” my purse is ( she is right). But I dread the whole looking for a new everyday one. Kudos to you for finding a fun one that you like, even if it didn’t meet the specifications first sought after.

  3. It’s a really cute spring/summer bag tho!

If you want timeless, get a classic like Dooney and Burke or Coach and you will carry it forever!

  4. Cute. I just got one at PacSun this weekend. Love it. Glad you found one you love. I was checking the Dooney’s out the other day but they were nearing the $400 mark. Ouch.

  5. Love the purse. The floral fabric looks like Amy Butler to me. I’m on an Amy Butler kick right now and would love to get a similar purse. I tried finding Lemon Drop Shop on ETSY, so I could try for one. The shop of that name has 0 items for sale and 0 items sold. So, I’m wondering if you have a username for Mr/Ms Lemon Drop that I can search on? I’ve found a few other sites that offer pruses/knitting bags (my real obsession is bags, not so much purses) in Amy Butler fabrics, but none that offer this pattern/construction. Any info is appreciated.
