So here’s what’s been going on….

1.  PROMPT therapist closed her practice with 10 hours notice and that left us high and dry where Anna Grace is concerned.

2.  PROMPT/Speech therapist in Florida was going to give away AG’s spot is we didn’t have a plan for getting started soon.

3. Speech/OT clinic here had only agreed to extend AG until the end of the summer.  They have a long waiting list and folks were starting to hint and ask questions about our upcoming move.  What they really meant… politely of course…. was "are you leaving or not?"

4. Our real estate agent told a bunch of lies, stopped promoting the house, and we caught on.

5. We got a new real estate agent.

6. Anna Grace is supposed to start preschool on the 20th of August.  That’s a long commute from Enumclaw, WA to Oakland, FL

7. They’ll hold her spot but can’t hold it indefinitely.

8. I dropped a bunch of stitches on the Monkey Socks that I never seem to finish.  I’m pretending the Monkey socks don’t exist.  Don’t wanna pick up those stitches.

9. Thanks for all the great comments on Anna Grace’s video.  The video shows her saying things that she is very familiar with… spontaneous language isn’t quite as clear but it is at about 70% intelligibility.   She’s come a long way.

10. We were up against a wall and had to make a plan regarding moving. So we did.

11.  Here’s the plan…. we’re leaving Washington regardless of the fact that our house hasn’t sold.  We found temporary housing in Florida.  We’re leaving our furniture and such here.

12.  We’re packing up clothes, some personal items. and  the shop inventory and heading out.

13.  My mother, Anna Grace and I will be leaving on the 23rd and driving to Florida via Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, Mount Rushmore and and a whole lot of middle America.  We will be just taking our time and traveling as much as Anna Grace will tolerate in a day.

14. Dana and his dad will leave here on August 31 and drive as fast as they can.  They are taking a uhaul of our possessions, the yarn and the 3 cats.  The cats, of course, will not be in the uhaul… they’ll be in the teeny tiny pickup truck with Dana and his dad.  That should smell just lovely.

15.  We’ll all meet up at my mother’s house in North Carolina.  That’s 10 hours from our new "temporary" home in Oakland, Florida.

16. I’m looking forward to seeing the sites on our roadtrip.

17. I’m looking forward to the day when this roadtrip is behind us.

18. I’m not looking forward to the 3  H’s: heat, humidity, hurricanes.  Such is the life of a Floridian… I’ll readjust soon enough.

19. Next weekend is the big garage sale to get rid of as much stuff as I can.

20.  Some summers are called Summer of Love…. some are the Summer of Lace.  I think I’ll call this one the Summer of Chaos.
