Covert Blogging

AG and I returned home last night and we had my mother in tow.  Mom did quite well with the flying, changing planes, etc. but she had made comments prior to our trip stating that she didn’t think she needed "babysitting" when it came to flying to Washington.  Five minutes after arriving in the Atlanta airport and she changed her tune.

My visit to NC was nice and quiet.  We went and visited the grandparents a few times and just hung around the house.  One highlight was getting a nice big bag of boiled peanuts.  Heaven!  I made an absolute pig of myself.

Mom does not know about the blog so I am trying to sneak in little bloggin’ moments here and there.  You’ll understand if the updates are a bit sparse this week.

I did finish Monica while I was gone. I steam blocked it and here are some photos…keep in mind I was trying to take a photo of a very active 3 year old.  Blur is to be expected under such circumstances.

The only modification I made was adding a bit to the length and using a picot hem in place of a garter stitch edging to the body of the shirt.  This was a very easy and very fun knit.  I think I will likely be making another.

In other news….

Today the sale of our house hit the skids.  The buyers had a contingency that their house sold.  Well, their buyer backed out.  The couple lives on Anderson Island and their buyer’s claim that they are "concerned" about their landscaping.  I think that sounds like their buyers were having cold feet.

I have seen a photo of the house in question.  It is a very nice and very large Cape Cod-ish looking house.  While the house is beautiful and so is it’s location, it is out of the way and accessible only by ferry. It is a vacation home sort of place and thus…. I don’t think these folks are going to have tons of buyers at their door.  So…. we put our house back on the market and told the folks we’d be more than happy to work with them again when they have things with their home a little more "settled".

In other words…. I’m not moving at the end of the month afterall.

I knew when that offer came in that things had gone just a bit "too easy" (if you know what I mean).

  1. Sorry about the house – hopefully a new buyer will come along soon. Monica (and model) are both adorable! That may just have to jump onto my needles for the granddaughter. And boiled peanuts – yum!!! It’s been so long since I had any, I had forgotten about them. I wonder if you can get them in Orlando. I’ll have to introduce my dil to them.

  2. yes! boiled peanuts…drats about the contract, but don’t worry I’m sure your house will sell :) That little top turned out cute as a button!
