Contain Your Excitement!

I got a big ol’ slab of stockinette to show you.

Try to keep your excitement under control.  This is the front of Monica.  I’m using some Cascade Sierra that I had in the stash and I bought a pink skein to be used for the ruffle.  The pattern calls for a garter stitch edge but instead I did the picot hem deal-y-bob.

Today I went down to the knitting/quilting/gift-o-rama that we have here in Enumclaw.  The joint ("joint" as in "the property") has been up for sale and rumor had it that the owner was closing down.  I could never get a confirmation but if it was true I’d be interested in buying her inventory.  Her store is 80% quilting, 10% knitting and 10% other stuff.  But when I got there I talked to one of the employees who said that no, the owner is hoping to be able to stay open.  Drat! I wish her all the best. (I was looking forward to buying out that inventory.  My mother had her eye on the quilting materials. Such is life.)

While there I did buy a skein of trekking and I bought this little notecard.  I loved the message so much, gotta frame it.  I’m sure I will be using this quote again in an upcoming shop  newsletter.  (That’s right people, I’m gettin’ my act together.  Newsletters will be coming out shortly.)  Here’s a photo of the notecard.

If you can’t read it ….. it is a quote by Dave Barry that says "There is a very fine line between hobby and mental illness".  This has become very apparent to me in recent weeks as we show our house and I see the reaction to the yarn by non-yarnies.   I’ve been getting looks.  You know what look I’m talking about, now don’tcha?

Well, must go.  We’ll be heading down to the southern part of the state tomorrow.  Won’t be back until Saturday night.  And, as I’m sure you’ve guessed, I’ll be postin’ pictures!!!!

Toodles!
