We’ve been doing a lot of celebrating around here. Celebrating Anna Grace and her 3rd birthday.
She had a little party with her playgroup and playgroup friends. Here’s Anna Grace playing at the party.
That afternoon a special surprise was in store for the child who always asks if she can "ride the horse". A pony came to the house to visit her and take her for a ride. Guess what Anna Grace did?
She went ballistic.
She took the pony for a walk (sorta) and she brushed the pony a little bit and the rest of the time she insisted that I hold her. She did ride the pony for a short time but then the pony did one of those "shake all over" maneuvers. She screamed. And screamed. And that was the end of that.
Anna Grace also refused to feed the pony a carrot.
Moving on…..
She also had special company for the weekend.
My dad came to see her for her birthday. The last time he saw her she was 5 months old.
She thinks he’s pretty cool.
Happy Bday, AG!! Maybe next year the pony won’t seem so scarey. I know, he was BIG, way bigger than you thought and he probably smelled weird and felt stranger than the “fur” Mama keeps around the house, but he really won’t hurt you unless you’re mean to him. I promise. My girls used to ride draft horses when they were your age. Those horses are as big as a small barn!
Many your 3rd year be as exciting and full of good things and the past year was. It is a priviledge to watch you grow. :o)
Happy Birthday Anna Grace! Hope you have as much fun as a three-year-old as Emma is!
Enjoy your visit with Grandpa!
Happy Birthday AG!!
What a stunning and touching picture of your Dad with AG – What a nice reunion!
And chance your handsome Dad is single and into fluffy women?
Happy Birthday!!!!!!…and a pony, too. My daughter would have done the same thing at three! That is great the feelings between Grandpa 😉 hopefully the next time won’t be another 3 years 😉
Awww… you’re such a nice mom arranging for both the pony and Grandpa. I’m sure she had a great day despite the screams:)
Happy bday, AG! My goodness, she’s growing up. She’s boodiful!
Happy Birthday AG!! I remember when we took Owen to see Thomas the Tank Engine (when he was old enough to walk–or better yet run–as in away screaming!). Poor AG. I hope she had a lovely visit with her grandpa.
A belated happy birthday to Anna Grace! Kids and ponies, I’ll remember this story if we ever get this bright idea for the grandkids.
Hey, I think Debi just hit on your dad! He is pretty dashing.
