I closed the hole using a crochet hook and a…. ahem….. knot-like maneuver.  There’s a little wonkiness but not too bad.

  1. Yeah that would have been my advice on how to fix the whole. crochet it up and then tie a tiny knot :-)
    I’m sorry to hear about your cat:-( I lost a pet awhile back and I hadn’t had him as long as you have had your cat, so I have some sort of idea of what you are feeling.

  2. Great job. That would have been my suggested fix, too. (I’ve also been known to employ “redneck engineering”–great term–except I call it “hillbilly ingenuity”!) I had a similar problem on a hat this week–it wasn’t a dropped stitch, but a random extra loopy thing sticking out after I finished the top. I tacked it down while weaving in the ends and it hardly shows. Problem solved! :)
