And the Cradle Will Rock

Rogue has its back completed and I’m working on the front. I’m up to starting the v-neck but I’m having trouble because each time I do the increases it either looks funny, it makes a little hole or both. So I’ve been knitting and tinking, knitting and tinking.

I haven’t touched the socks since I finished them…. I better get to it since they gotta get in the mail. I am avoiding them because I have to fix the toes on one of them. I stiched one toe up going left to right and the other sock has the toe sewn up front to back. Doh! I think its possible that knitting and football don’t go together real well.

This past week I was getting ready to take Anna Grace to speech therapy and I was thinking that this particular morning was going quite well. I was getting dressed without having to pull toddler off my leg, remove toddler from various and assundry flammable/life threatening/ hazardous circumstances, etc etc etc. I noticed how Anna Grace seemed to be very quiet and just at that moment my brain sent out all the emergency alert signals and I went out looking for her. Why? Because it is never good to have a quiet toddler. A quiet toddler is destroying something, burning down the house or in the process of committing an act that will permanently maim and dismember themselves or a small animal.

The quiet toddler was found here…..

Anna Grace has an antique cradle that my mother bought when I was pregnant. AG slept in the cradle for a few months and then, after she’d been sleeping in her crib for a while, I eventually put the cradle in her room and put her teddy bears, dolls, etc in the cradle. Lately just 2 bears spend their lives in the cradle but on this morning Anna Grace had evicted the bears, tossed their blanket to the wind and climbed in herself. I believe she had been there for a while. I noticed her try to stand up and then seem a bit concerned over the fact the cradles rocks.

Well, I’m off. Happy Knitting!
