I finished the Flower Basket Shawl this afternoon. When I left for Madrona I had 6 stitches of the last pattern row left. Then purl back and bind off. I really wanted to finish prior to leaving. I wasn’t planning on taking it with me but I just wanted to know it was complete. However, as midnight loomed and my plane the next morning left quite early… I gave up.
This afternoon I sat down and determined that I was going to finish this thing RIGHT NOW. My plan was to take a nice picture of it, outside, in the sunlight. It was not to be. That bind off row took forever. While the sun had basically set when I finally finished, I did manage to scrounge up enough light so that I didn’t have to use a flash. Here’s a photo….
I may block it tomorrow. Depends on how life unfolds tomorrow.
This morning life unfolded in a bit of an ugly way. Anna Grace got up and was downstairs talking to Dana. He was fixing her breakfast while I was stealing a few last seconds of sleep. I heard a ruckus but decided to ignore it and keep sleeping. Next thing I know Dana is standing next to my side of the bed making the announcement. Anna Grace had gacked all over the floor. The carpeted floor.
Here’s the point for you TMI folks to just turn around and walk away…..
The carpet here…. in this rented… RENTED… home is a light beige. Anna Grace had, apparently, not fully digested the Laffy Taffy…. the BRIGHT RED Laffy Taffy…. that she had been eating last night. Does that give you the full mental image of what I’ve been scrubbing on all day.
Can you say “I am so thankful for Resolve carpet cleaner”??!!!!!!
The kiddo? She’s doing great. I kept her home from school and she is so “fine” that I deeply regretted that decision. Just sayin’.
Well, must go. I’m being “paged” by a three year old.
Oooof. Nothing like rental carpets and barf for a stress combo. When my poor niece got a stomach virus last year while visiting, after the first episode, I was like “Barf on the couch, a throw rug, anywhere but the carpet. Pleasssse!” TMI, I know.
positively love that the nurse practitioner considers sending her kid to school after vomiting…less than 24 hours! da nerve!
shawl looks great!
Ick. When we picked the carpet for our upstairs, we considered a nice sophisticated cream color Berber carpet. Then we thought about cat hairballs and the color of stuff that generally comes out of pets, and tried to match the color to that. And that specialty pet carpet cleaner is a miracle.
I hear your pain. Between gacking and potty training, this is why we invested in one of those Bissell Green Machines. Works just about every time, if you get it while it’s still fresh. I know, TMI there too, but hey, them’s the facts.
