Hood Ornament

I decided to actually sit down, read the pattern and figure out how to progress on Rogue instead of continuing in my “I don’t want to think about it” state. I love this pattern but asking a knitter to stitch a seam together in the middle of a project is a bit mean. Who likes seaming???

Anyhoo… once I got past the brain block, took it one step at a time, (and 99 attempts to stitch up the shoulders) I finally got Rogue back on the needles and we’re knitting a hood. My shoulder seams look pretty awful but after all the seaming and ripping and seaming and ripping… a bright light shone from above and a voice from the heavens said “much of the shoulders will be covered by the hood….” and with that I decided that less than perfect seaming on the shoulders would be less than noticeable.

Here’s the hood progress…

The green sock is no more. I decided I really didn’t like it and I sent it to the frog pond. I haven’t started another sock yet. Can’t decide if I want to start another sock or give the Branching Out scarf another try. Still pondering that for a bit. We’ll see.

In house news… its still not selling. I need this hurricane season to just chill out. Everytime I start to make some good progress on this house another storm pops up and then nobody wants to buy a house. I went to bed last night listening the news: tropical system hovering around, no potential to organize, lots of rain, etc. I wake up this morning to “Tropical Storm Tammy off coast of Cape Canaveral”. That’s 40-ish miles from my house and that’s just not fair. (Ya hear me, God… not fair!) I’ve lived here all my life and not until this season have we had these “systems” that suddenly decide to be a TS or a hurricane right off shore. Katrina did the same thing… yes… for those of you who may not recall… Katrina hit Florida first …. then it went in the gulf and decided to get all jiggey with New Orleans and Biloxi.

“Tammy” is only causing lots of rain, band storms… gotta love those band storms.. NOT! We have just under 60 days left of hurricane season… 60 whole days. Thankfully November storms are not too common. Last one I remember I think was Hurricane/TS Gregory in 1994-ish. Lots of rain… flooded my neighborhood blocking all entrances/exits but one… and that one was eaten up by a sink hole. It was unfortunate for me because I was at work when it flooded those areas so I couldn’t go home for two or three days. Fun!

Anna Grace has been a lot of fun today, jabbering away. Here’s a photo from Monday…

  1. Hi Kris- hope I got my url right, probably not lol! I’m not very good at that type of thing. I love the colour of Rogue! Anna Grace is lovely. Hope your house sells soon so you can all be together.
I’ve finished a baby cardy and have a pic of it on my blogger page. The neck looks a little small though, although I did it to the pattern and cast off loosely. Next jobs are 3 scarves for posting overseas to rellies for Christmas.
