How about a list?
1. Discovered that Anna Grace was singing Jingle Bells. She just changed the words a little bit.
Chicken Bells
Chicken Bells
Chicken Bells
(over and over again)
2. Saw Tim Tebow win the Heisman and, although he plays for the wrong football team, I’m honestly happy for the kid. (Can you imagine the poor folks who are going to come here because they searched on his name…. only to find that they’ve arrived at a knitting blog. Sorry guys!).
3. Wonder if Tim Tebow will now go to the NFL. I could live with that (HAH!)….it would definitely help FSU if he did. And I’m all for anything that will help FSU.
4. All of our furniture and everything we own is still in Washington. Got tired of Anna Grace’s room looking all mish mashed and like a pig stye. BUT…. didn’t want to spend any money on furniture we soon wouldn’t need , etc. Came up with a plan….. find a way to store the toys, move her bed and try to make her bed look a little more like a big girl bed. Oh… and don’t spend any money.
Result…..
We bought a bulletin board and painted it yellow. Dana then painted the flowers. Add cheap bedding from Target and Voila! The "headboard" was needed to block access to the plugs and cable outlet. I wanted to move her bed away from the windows but couldn’t do it until I knew those things were safely hidden. Thus… I came up with a plan to make her a headboard that would hang on the wall and cover those plugs.
5. Anna Grace loves her new bed and can’t stop talking about it. What’s she going to do when we actually move our furniture down here. I hope she doesn’t reject her actual bed for this… um…. creative version of a bed.
6. Tried to test a theory. Figured Anna Grace may be talking to an imaginary friend when she calls me Shannon. Asked Anna Grace about Shannon, if she liked to play with her etc. Eventually Anna Grace just looked at me funny and said "Mommy, you Shannon". So much for that theory.
7. Updated the shop with a little mini update. We added more Chewy Spaghetti and then some patterns from ShibuiKnits.
8. Found out that Lily (one of the cats) has breast cancer (rare in cats). We found it early and were trying to get her taken care of…. but this has not been easy. She took an unexpected turn for the worse and now we’re kinda just in a wait and see mode. Part of this bad outcome seems to be due in part to the fact that she also has Addison’s Disease (extremely rare in cats) which was undiagnosed until today. It is unclear if she will make it through the night. But, she is a fighter and she’s fighting as hard as she can. C’mon girl…. you can do this!
9. Doing some Christmas knitting. Not a lot. Finished one project. Have a few more to go.
10. Dana and I spent several hours this weekend trying to figure out what we could do to promote the shop a bit more. We came to a conclusion. We need to keep doing what we are currently doing…. just do a lot more of it. Such is life.
So…. how was your weekend?
