Wanna See?

First off…..

If you are turning 39 this week…. you need to go away.

If you are turning 39 this week and you are at the National Autism Conference…. go away.  You can come back when I give you a little gift bag.

OK….. I think she may be gone.

Wanna see my sock?  It’s a birthday sock.

I’m knitting these for EC for her birthday…. which is right now.  (Nothing like waitin’ till the last minute!!!!!!).  These are a basic waffle weave pattern.  I’m using some yarn I snagged out of the yarn shop.   I’m using Zen Yarn Garden Merino/Tencel in the color Purly Gates.  I love this yarn.  It is so soft, I love the sheen and it is great to knit with.  I’m havin’ a ball knitting these socks.

Incidently…. I’m using a waffle stitch or waffle rib (also called a waffle weave I think).  To do the same…..

Row 1: Knit

Row 2: Knit

Row 3: K2P2

Row 4: K2P2

Rinse and repeat.

I’m loving the stitch pattern, lovin’ the yarn.  There’s lots of happyhappyjoyjoy going on with this project.  Oh…. and on that link to the ZYG that is in the shop…. see that color called Cocoa Blue?  Well, a few days ago I mentioned that there was a skein that I can’t stop gazing at, lusting over, etc.  The skein that I just always have to pet a little bit…. well it’s that one.  I. Love. That. Colorway.   Which is odd… I’m not usually into greys or turquoise or anything to do with those colors.  But that skein just jumps out at me each time I’m near it.

Well… gotta go.  Gotta cast on for sock 2 (that’s right… I’m knittin’ another pair of socks on dpn’s.  Call the media.)  I gotta get these socks done now.  Right now.

Toodles!

  1. What a great colorway, I love it. The waffle rib is my old favorite standby. It seems to look really good in any yarn I can’t decide which stitch to use.
First time to your blog and shop, I will be back : )
